Item Embargo Assessing The Factors Affecting The Utilization of Electronic Records in Nursing Schools: A Case Study Of Kabale School of Comprehensive Nursing.(Kabale University, 2019) Tumwijukye, WarrenThis study assessed the factors affecting the Utilization of Electronic Records in Nursing Schools. A case study of the School of comprehensive Nursing. The objectives of the study were: to identify the role of utilization of electronic records, to investigate the factors affecting the utilization of electronic records, and to suggest possible ways of improving utilization of electronic records in the Kabale school of comprehensive nursing. The study used a cross-sectional study design. A target population of 80 respondents was used for the study and a sample size of 40 respondents was selected. Questionnaires, interview guides, and observation checklists were used for the study in data collection and data was analyzed using Excel, for generating descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages. They were presented in tables, and text. The study results on the role of Utilization of Electronic Records in the Kabale School of comprehensive Nursing, the respondents mentioned facilitates retrieval, enables staff to access all information anytime, enables quicker and cheaper document compilation, provides access to extensive information, and contribution to strategic planning, on factors affecting Utilization of Electronic Records in Kabale school of comprehensive Nursing, the respondents mentioned inadequate funds, low level of computer skills, lack of records management awareness, lack of training and poor management of records and the study results on possible ways of improving Utilization of Electronic Records in Kabale school of comprehensive Nursing, the respondents mentioned records management guidelines, increasing digital sources, installation of electronic security, engage students in a digital collection, training of staff and records management policy.Item Restricted Assessing The Impact of Record Managers Training on Organizational Performance: A Case Study of Kabale University.(Kabale University, 2019) Kyasimiire, SheillahThe study was about the impact of records managers' training on organizational performance. A case study of Kabale University. The study was guided by three objectives which were: to ascertain the impact of records managers' training on organizational performance, to determine the challenges faced by records managers' training on organizational performance, and to suggest possible solutions to records management pieces of training and organizational performance. A total sample of forty-five (45) respondents was considered for the study. This included the Head of Departments, Academic Registrar and University Secretary, and Records Staff. The researcher used both simple random and purposive sampling techniques in identifying the study sample population. The methods that were used in data collection included questionnaires, observation, and interviews. Data collected was edited, coded, entered into the computer, and analyzed with Excel, a Microsoft statistical package, the results were presented in tables. Based on the results from the study all respondents agreed that there were several impacts of records managers training on organizational performances and among others including enhancing the individual's capacity to contribute optimally to the development of the organization, training is an ideal way to learn a job and it helps employees to improve their skills, training is an ideal way to learn a job and it helps employees to improve their skills, employee training programs to improve the adaptability and flexibility of the workforces. From objective two above, it was found out that there was a lack of basic skills and competencies for handling records, technological hurdles because most of the information is kept in the form of multimedia, insufficient cost the record center cannot provide a good service and without good planning on the budget the record, records management are not specific to a particular file format. From the research, objective three it was found as indicated by the respondents from Kabale University that the study findings indicated that employing skilled personnel, maintaining the authenticity and trustworthiness of electronic records, developing a records disaster recovery plan, offering advice to registry organizations, and protection of vital records. The study concluded that the University secretary should appoint a person with a Records Management qualification to revive the records departmental office for effective utilization.Item Embargo Assessing The Impact of Records Managers Training on Performance of Municipalities: A case Study Of Kabale Munuciplity Kabale District.(Kabale University, 2019) Ninshaba, ClareThe most outstanding aim of this study was assessing the impact of Records Managers Training on the performance of Municipalities. The objectives of the study were; to find out the role of Records Managers on the performance of the municipality, to find out the types or records kept in :,3bale municipality, to find out the challenges faced by Records Managers in the management of records, and to find out the possible solution to the challenges face by record managers in managing record in Kabale Municipality. The study was carried out in Kabalc municipality and data was corrected from I5 respondents including administrative staff, registry staff, and clients. Some administrators were given questionnaires and interview schedules to those who we,-c very busy and could not get enough time to answer questionnaires. The collected data was checked and analyzed. tabulated and calculated in percentages and degrees and the results obtained indicated that Records Managers play a very big role in the performance of Kabale Municipality. The major findings of the study about the role of Records Managers were. Promoting accountability, facilitating decision-making, saving time and space, and proper administration However, the respondents also indicated that there also some challenges that were being faced by Records Managers of Kabale municipality but some possible solutions were proposed. There is a need to introduce other methods of security of records management systems such as the use of computer program packages such as database and pastel respectively for this can reduce the tow and growth of paper records, there also should be skilled personnel who have more experience and proper training in the field of records management, there also should tic on job training especially the records staff of Kabale municipality in order !' or them to keep updating themselves with current methods of managing. maintaining and preserving records. The records manager should procure other storage equipment to cater to the growing paper records.Item Embargo Assessing Utilization of Information Access Tools in Academic Libraries: A Case Study of National Teachers College Kabale.(Kabale University, 2022) Arimpwera, PhionaThis Purpose of this study was to assess the utilization of information access tools in academic libraries. A case study of National Teachers College Kabale. It was guided by the following research objectives; identifying the types of information access tools used at National Teachers College Kabale, finding out the challenges faced by users when utilizing information resources at National Teachers College Kabale and suggesting possible solutions to the challenges faced by users in utilizing available information resources at National Teachers College Kabale. A qualitative case study research design was preferred because it helped the researcher to study the selected issues in depth. The sample size comprised of 180 respondents. Observation method, interviewing method and document review method were the data collection methods used by the researcher. The study findings revealed that different types of information access tools were used at National Teachers College Kabale and they include among others catalogues, indexes, abstracts, classification schemes, bibliographies, search engines and subject directories. It was evident that difficulty in locating library materials for quicker information search was the major challenge faced by students in utilizing available information resources at National Teachers College Kabale followed by inadequate ICT Literacy Skills. Inadequate well trained information workers, lack of awareness of library users to information resources, improper accurate information, inadequate funds to procure ICT tools were also among the challenges faced while training of staff, recruitment of qualified library staff, provision of different information materials, provision of internet facilities, creation of awareness and finally government funding were pointed out by respondents as possible solutions to the challenges faced by students in utilizing available information resources in National Teachers College Kabale.
