Item Restricted Effect of Accountability on Health Service Delivery in Rukiga District: A Case Study of Mparo Health Centre IV.(Kabale University, 2023) Ainembabazi, BleanderThe research study aimed at establishing the effect of accountability on health service delivery in Rukiga District using a case study of Mparo Health Centre IV. The study was guided by the following objectives namely; to find out the level of service delivery of clients at Mparo Health Centre IV in Mparo Town Council, Rukiga District, Uganda, to investigate the challenges faced in accountability at Mparo Health Centre IV in Mparo Town Council, Rukiga District, Uganda and to propose the solutions towards addressing the challenges faced in accountability at Mparo Health Centre IV in Mparo Town Council, Rukiga District. The sample size constituted different groups of people totaling 60 respondents who were both clients of the hospital and employees of the hospital. This helped the researcher to get adequate and accurate results for meaningful study. The researcher employed purposive and simple, random sampling methods because of their ease and appropriateness for the study. From the study findings, it was found that if accountability practices are implemented correctly, good development would be achieved. Similarly, if the accountability practices are not implemented there would be poor service delivery. Some of the respondents failed to disclose some of the information to the interviewer. The researcher had to convince the respondents that the information was for academic purposes. In short, accountability affects the development of Mparo Health Centre IV.Item Restricted Role of Civil Society Organizations in Promoting Transparency and Accountability in Kabale Municipality: A Case Study of Kick Corruption out of Uganda (Kick-U) Kabale Branch.(Kabale University, 2024) Namanya, Benson BenonThis study explored the challenges and opportunities for transparency and accountability in Kabale Municipality, focusing on factors influencing the effectiveness of these mechanisms. The specific objectives were to: (i) examine the relationship between transparency and corruption in the municipality, (ii) investigate the impact of accountability on citizen participation in decision-making, and (iii) assess the effectiveness of the municipal council's transparency and accountability mechanisms in reducing corruption and enhancing citizen engagement. The findings aim to provide insights into improving governance and fostering trust between the municipal council and its stakeholders.
