The study explored the effects of household income on the educational completion of girls in Kamuganguzi sub-county, Kabale District. The objectives were to establish the relationship between household income and the educational completion rates of girls in primary schools, examine the challenges faced by girls in these schools, and assess the impact of household income on their educational completion rates. A descriptive research design guided the study, using simple random and purposive sampling techniques, with a sample of 66 respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires and interview guides. The study concluded that household income affects the educational completion rates of girls in primary schools in various ways, including increased enrollment rates, contributing to gender gaps, sustaining students in schools, easing access to services needed for school attendance, and allowing headteachers and parents to evaluate parental contributions. The challenges faced by girls included a lack of finances, lengthy consultation processes by parents, limited capacity to improve living standards, lack of openness and transparency, lack of responsiveness, and absence of a work plan. There was a clear relationship between household income and educational completion rates, with factors like increased enrollment, gender gaps, student sustainability, and access to necessary services being significant. The study recommended conducting comparative research in other sub-counties of Kabale District to investigate how household characteristics influence pupils' completion rates. Additionally, a similar study should be undertaken in secondary schools in Kamuganguzi sub-county for comparative results. Further research is needed to examine school-based factors affecting pupils' completion rates in Kamuganguzi sub-county, Kabale District.
