dc.description.abstractThe study was about electronic records management and service delivery in records centers at Kabale District central registry southwestern Uganda. The study was, guided by the following objectives: To examine the effects of electronic records management systems on service delivery in records centers, a case study of Kabale District central registry, to assess the attitude of staff towards electronic records management systems on service delivery in record centers, to identify strategies on how to improve electronic records management systems on service delivery in records centers. A case study of Kabale District registry. Data was collected from 60 respondents whose response rate was 100%. Data was collected through use of a structured questionnaire, interviews, qualitative and quantitative data analysis tool were used. The data was summarized and analyzed using frequency distributions, and figures. The study established that, electronic records management plays a big role towards service delivery at kabale district. However, it was found out that there is negative attitude towards electronic records. Some strategies were identified on how to overcome negative attitude towards using electronic records. It was conducted that, managing electronic records has many challenges, which need serious attention. Kabale district local government should make sure that they are ready to harmer whatever challenges they face for, example when information gets lost and cannot immediately be retrieved. It was recommended that, Kabale district local government recruits records officers who are well trained with experience and innovative to handle all records, if this were done, records for institution would be managed well.en_US
