The aim of this research project is to assess the effect of mixing water temperature on properties of concrete. Locally available materials were used to obtain concrete cubes of 150mmx 1 50mmx 1 50mm) for every temperatures of7°C, 15°C, 22°C, 35°C and 40°C. The results of the compressive strength for both the 7days, 14days and 28days, it was observed that the compressive strength generally increases with the increase in temperatures of mixing water. It was also noticed that there was increase in the water absorption rate as temperatures increased from 7"C to 40"C of mixing water. There was increase in the density at low temperatures of 7C and 15"C of mixing water. It is observed that at higher temperatures of 35"C and 40"C the density of concrete declined. This therefore meant that the difference in densities was due to the difference in mixing water temperature. The study also revealed that mixing water temperature has a significant influence on the strength and workability.
