dc.description.abstractThe study examined the analysis of the impact of media on premarital sex in Central Division Kabale Municipality. The objectives of the study were; to identify the types of media used in Central Division Kabale Municipality, to examine the causes of premarital sex in Central Division Kabale Municipality, and to assess the existing strategies that are being used to prevent premarital sex. The study employed a descriptive research design and data was collected using interviews and questionnaires. From the stud findings, the highest number of respondents mentioned radio and the lowest number of respondents talked of online media. The study results on the causes of premarital sex in the Central Division in Kabale Municipality, the highest number of the respondents mentioned a lack of good sex education among many youth while the lowest number of the respondents mentioned the influence of electronic media. The study results on the strategies being used to prevent premarital sexual, the highest number of respondents mentioned offering youth empowerment programs that focus on building self-esteem, communication skills, and decision-making abilities while the lowest number of respondents mentioned developing media literacy programs that help young people critically analyze and question the portrayal of sex and relationships in the media. The study recommended that there should be implementation of religious education programs that focus on teaching the principles of the respective faith, including the importance of morality, chastity, and the sanctity of marriage because these programs should be tailored to different age groups and should involve active participation from religious leaders and community members, there should be establishment of youth empowerment initiatives that provide young people with opportunities for personal and spiritual development as this can include mentorship programs, skills training, and extracurricular activities that promote positive values and self-esteem and there should be fostering of community engagement through workshops, seminars, and discussions that address the challenges of premarital sex and provide guidance on building healthy relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.
