Abstract

This study was aimed at establishing the relationship between records management and service delivery in Referral Hospitals with the case study Kakooba Health Center IV, Mbarara Municipality as the study area. The study had five chapters with chapter one covering the background of the study, statement of the problem, purpose of the study, study objectives, research questions, and scope of the study and significance of the study. The study set specifically to examine how records are created, stored, maintained, distributed and disposed of in Health centers, assess the relevance of records management in service delivery, identify the challenges of records management and suggest the possible solutions to challenges faced while managing records. Chapter two covered the existing literature on the relationship between records management and service delivery in Referral Hospitals covering objective by objective. In chapter three, the researcher described the methods that were used during the study which included; the research design, study population and sample size, methods of data collection, data analysis and presentation and limitations encouraged during the study. Chapter four described the bio-data of the respondents which included; gender, age, marital status, level of education, responsibility held in the hospital and empirical result basing on the objectives represented using tables and figures. Chapter five covered the discussions basing on the stated objectives, summary of finding, conclusion, recommendations and areas for further research.
