The study examined the impact of social inequality on education in Bumbaire sub-county, Bushenyi district. The objectives were to explore the impact of social inequality on students' academic performance, assess how social inequality affects classroom activities, and find ways to eliminate social inequality and improve academic performance. A cross-sectional survey design was used, with a sample of 120 respondents selected through purposive and simple random sampling methods. Data was collected using questionnaires. The study concluded that, despite global efforts to expand educational participation, disparities in access, resources, and outcomes persist within and between schools in Bumbaire sub-county, especially between students from wealthy and poor families. This suggests that increasing access to education does not automatically lead to greater educational equality or equity. Educational disparities are deeply rooted in the socio-economic stratification of the area, and specific measures targeted at vulnerable groups have been empirically shown to have limited impact. Overcoming educational inequalities requires profound systemic changes. The study recommended that school authorities provide and promote recreational activities such as athletics, football, debating societies, scrabble, and creative writing. These activities can help inculcate discipline, foster a spirit of sportsmanship, friendship, and competitiveness, and reduce social inequalities. Additionally, the government should ensure schools are equipped with adequate facilities, learning aids, and professionals to create a conducive learning environment and reduce student stress.
