The objectives of the study were; to identify the ways teachers are motivated in schools of Kanungu town council Kanungu district, to establish the effects of motivation of teachers on students' performance in Kanungu town council Kanungu district, and to suggest ways teachers' motivation can be improved in schools of Kanungu town council Kanungu district. A cross-sectional survey was used and data was collected using interviews and questionnaires. The study findings on ways teachers are motivated in schools of Kanungu town council Kanungu district were; that teachers are motivated by giving them wages and salaries, piece rate is used to motivate teachers, performance-related pay is used in motivation of teachers, giving fringe benefits to teachers helps them to be motivated. provision of hard-to-reach allowances helps in teachers motivation and provision of training opportunities is used in teachers motivation. The study findings on the effects of the motivation of teachers on students' performance of Kanungu town council Kanungu district were; that the motivation of teachers increases their self-esteem and ability to teach comfortably hence students' good academic performance, motivation of teachers leads to attraction of competent teachers which leads to quality work, hence students' good performance, teachers' motivation helps them to work very well and confidently loving their job which encourage students to work hard and love studies good performance and motivating teachers makes them appreciate their job and as they keep on it for a long time making manpower hence, good students academic performance. The study findings on ways teachers' motivation can be improved in schools of Kanungu town council Kanungu district were; that teachers can be motivated through increasing their salaries to enhance their job satisfaction, teachers can be motivated through delegation of responsibilities, recognition of teachers can make them motivated and motivation of teachers can be through satisfaction for their needs such as security needs.
