Abstract
The project, "Design and Prototype of a Portable Stroboscope for Industrial Applications," aims to create a portable and cost-effective device capable of measuring the rotational speed of industrial machinery. A stroboscope uses a flashing light to make moving objects appear stationary, enabling the precise measurement of their rotational speed without interrupting their operation. The stroboscope was designed using an Arduino microcontroller to control an LED that flashes at adjustable frequencies. The user can tune the flashing frequency to match the rotational speed of a machine, at which point the machine’s rotation appears static, and the RPM can be read. This system provides accurate, non-invasive measurements, making it a valuable tool for industries requiring machinery maintenance, diagnostics, and safety checks. The prototype successfully demonstrated high accuracy and ease of use in various industrial settings. It is a low-cost solution to monitor machinery without the need to halt operations, thus improving efficiency and productivity. This project contributes to the growing field of industrial automation and highlights the potential for affordable diagnostic tools in the industry.
