dc.description.abstractIn the near future, Kabale Municipality is becoming a city, awaiting industry growth and growth in number of electricity consumers. In order to occur a continues supply of power to the consumers in the region, it was decided to redesign the existing 5MVA 33/1 l kV substation, to solve power supply reliability issues. The work is focused on survey of substation equipment and factors that affect the reliability of the system. The main goal is to determine the most suitable structure of the substation that will improve reliability, operational flexibility using minimum costs.
