Abstract
The role of religion and/or religious organizations in the development mainstream has been almost invisible being either ignored or undervalued. The primary reason for this has been the conceptualization of development as a secular project underpinned by the view of modernization and development across the world. The general objective of the study was to assess religion on the social economic development of communities in the Nyarushanje sub-county Rukungiri district.
