Abstract
This research explored the innovative application of mini waterfalls as a natural method for regulating temperature within the interior spaces of Kabale University. This research aimed to enhance the design and operation of mini waterfalls to improve thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and aesthetic value in university buildings. The study investigates the effects of mini waterfalls on indoor temperature, humidity, and air quality, and evaluates their potential to reduce reliance on mechanical heating and cooling systems. The findings of this research provide insights into the optimal design and placement of mini waterfalls in various building types and offer a sustainable solution for enhancing the thermal comfort and energy efficiency of interior spaces at Kabale University. The results of this study have broader implications for architectural design and urban planning, promoting the integration of natural elements like mini waterfalls into smart building design and contributing to the reduction of carbon footprints in the built environment. Data collection involved observations of the identified mini indoor waterfalls, focusing on their physical characteristics, flow rates, and surrounding environments. Additionally, structured interviews were conducted with local residents, architects, and environmentalists to gather insights on the perceived roles and benefits of these waterfalls, particularly in relation to sustainable architectural practices.
