Adoption and Utilization of Business Innovations of Agricultural Research in Uganda: Empirical Analysis.
(Kabale University, 2024) Barekye, Alex; Tamwesigire, Caleb
This paper seeks to examine the adoption of business innovations within the context of the agricultural sector in Uganda. The findings emerge from research carried out to assess the utilization of business innovations of research in Uganda considering the National Agricultural Research Organization(NARO) as a reference, specifically to find out the association between innovation attributes and their use on-farm, as well as establish the consequence of innovation features and demand (market) about the use of discoveries in farm management. The opinions of 99 participants in producing major crops in the Kanungu district where the NARO innovations were verified were sought. The information was assembled and scrutinized with SPSS and STATA. The findings revealed that innovation features played an important role in the extent of application of the technology. Similarly, how old participants have had a negative linkage with the use of technologies, while the extent of education helps the application of technologies by farmers.

Method: A correlational design was used to establish the relationship between different credit risk management practices and Loan Performance in selected commercial banks in the city. The study used a structured questionnaire to collect numerical data from the credit staff and management of 19 commercial banks. Correlation and regression tests to analyze the relationships and effects of Credit risk management and Loan Performance of commercial banks in Mbarara city Findings: The study found a significant relationship between credit risk identification and loan performance; credit risk assessment and loan performance; credit risk monitoring and loan performance; and credit risk control and loan performance. The study also found that some commercial banks did not have experts to accurately predict credit risks nor evaluate the consequences of the decisions taken by loan officers. Implication: Banks should source experts who can analyze and predict risks and evaluate their consequences on the bank. The bank should adopt the tool of 5cs of credit management, with this it will develop a good loan book that shall lead to good loan performance. Limitations: We still don't know clients' perceptions of the different credit risk management practices. Therefore, a qualitative study to assess clients' perception of the credit management practices in commercial banks should be conducted.

Stakeholder participation and project performance: Insights from the Soroti Catholic Diocese projects in Teso region of Uganda
(African Quarterly Social Science Review, 2025) Alako, Philomena Petronela; Tamwesigire, Caleb; Kyabarongo, Benon; Mwazuna, Alice Ngele
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of stakeholder participation on project performance in Soroti Catholic Diocese in Uganda. The study was guided by the stakeholder theory and adopted a cross-sectional survey research design that involved a purely quantitative approach. Using the Morgan table, a sample of 100 respondents was selected using stratified sampling from a population of 132. Quantitative data was collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS Version 25.0. Quantitative results in the form of descriptive statistics, correlations, and regressions were presented using tables. The results indicated that stakeholder participation had a strong positive influence on project performance (r = 0.721 and p = 0.00 ≤ 0.01). The study concluded that stakeholder participation significantly enhances project performance within the Soroti Catholic Diocese. When stakeholders are engaged throughout the project's planning, implementation, and monitoring phases, they contribute local knowledge, feedback, and innovative ideas, which enhances the quality of project outputs. The study recommends that the Diocese should strengthen and promote active stakeholder participation practices in order to achieve improved performance of the projects' outcomes.
