Item Embargo Challenges Faced by Literature Teachers in Rwahi-Rwentobo Town Council Ntungamo District(Kabale University, 2021) Kokunda, RosemaryThe study was about the challenges facing teachers teaching literature in selected sernndary schools in Ntungamo district. The study was guided by three objectives, which were to find out the challenges facing teachers teaching literature in selected secondary schools in Ntungamo district, to find out the methods of teaching literature in selected secondary schools in Ntungamo district, to propose possible solutions to the challenges faced by literature teachers in selected schools of Ntungamo district. A total sample of 80 respondents was considered for the study. This included head teacher, teachers and students. The researcher used both simple random and purposive sampling techniques in identifying the study sample population. The methods that were used in data collection included questionnaires, observation, and interview. Data collected was edited, coded, entered into computer and analyzed with excel, a Microsoft statistical package, the results were presented in tables. Basing on results from the study, According to the findings 100% of the respondents agreed that there are methods of teaching literature in selected secondary and these include teacher-centered method, student centered method, teacher student interactive method. From objective two above, the finding indicated that there are several the challenges facing teachers teaching literature in selected secondary schools and these included teacher turn over forces schools to devote attention, frequent transfer of teachers may lead to both poor performance and dropout, heavy number in classes is not favorable for teachers c to attended every student which leads to poor performance, no sufficient numbers of graduates produced in specific teaching fields. The study finding further indicated that there are several appropriate solutions to the challenges of teaching literature in secondary schools as none of the study respondents was able to disagree with the same statement. The study on further findings established the following solutions to the challenges of teaching literature in secondary schools and these included teachers should consider a method basing on the level he/she is going to teach as an important tool for teaching literature, needs to be conversant with various teaching strategies which may be applied to subjects at different class , teachers should teach lesson in line with the selected method, teacher should also be considered before the selection of any method.Item Embargo Challenges Faced By Literature Teachers In Rwahi-Rwentobo Town Council Ntungamo District.(Kabale University, 2021) Kokunda, RosemaryThe study was about the challenges facing teachers teaching literature in selected secondary schools in Ntungamo district.
