Designing of a Drainage System on a Section of Katuna - Rubaya - Muko Road in Kabale District.
    (Kabale University, 2021) Amanya, Rabbi
The material presented in this report covers all the works completely done involving mathematical calculations of sizes of different hydraulic structures. Software computations involve the comparison of results obtained by manual calculations to have the designs into a working piece. The design of the channel followed the application of engineering calculations and software to come up with the appropriate sizing, shape and material for construction. It also included field activities to take elevations and find the slope of the area, together with the entire water catchment. The discharge obtained enabled to size the channel, which furthermore directed onto the design of the hydraulic culvert. The hydraulic culvert, using the obtained discharge from the catchment through the channel, the diameter of the culvert pipe is obtained and controlling headwater section is also obtained. All these form a sequence of activities to divert the runoffs off the road.
